QV-QEII Covers, cards and wrappers (75) and pieces (430), the majority with London printed matter cancels containing various London district or office initials or telegraphic codes; also inspectors handstamps (27) including "S.E" obliterating a 1d charge mark on a 1921 postcard with a stamp removed in transit, "I.S" on a 1912 card written at Dieppe with a French stamp cancelled in London, etc. An interesting collection in an S.G. album, virtually all KGV or earlier. Lot 1765 - g.b postal history uniform penny postage - the michael goodman collection of 1d paid handstamps in red and 2d charge marks in black. (also see lots 1163/4). - Argyll Etkin Ltd Worldwide Stamps and Postal History1845-61 Covers and an entire letter all with distinctive "2" charge marks deleted or applied in error with 1845 "2" of Romsey on a local cover, crossed through and apparently delivered free of charge, the wax seal with an official coat of arms; 1846 Buntingford "2" applied in error on 1846 entire letter to Italy and 1851-67 covers franked 1d with "2" charge marks of Hastings or Bury St. Edmunds both crossed out, the covers presumably deemed to be under 1⁄2oz.
