Trinidad 1847 (April 16): Lady MacLeod (5 c.) blue, a used example with large even margins all round, used on 18 March 1848 entire letter from San Fernando to William Graham in Port of Spain, cancelled by manuscript pen cross in brownish ink where one stroke of the pen's nib has grazed the surface of the adhesive; typical file folds away from the adhesive, otherwise a delightfully appearing example on a fine entire. Illustrated in "Trinidad, a Philatelic History" by Sir John Marriott on page 292. Signed Calves Gi = £ 12'000 off cover.
