Three line dated PANAMA / TRANSIT alongside (Aug 29) and trans-shipped to French Paquebot with superb octagonal PANAMA / PAQ. FR. A No. 2 (Sept 1) struck in black (Salles fig. 1413). Carried on the 'Panama' to Bordeaux and thence via Paris to Genova (Sept 25) where taxed '14' (1 lire 40 centesemi) due. Scarce usage and most attractive. Signed Miro. Cert. Robineau (1988).
