5 c. green (2) with file fold and tiny worm hole used on 1869 entire letter from Lima (Nov 21) to Genova, Italy tied by Lima cds's of despatch and by 'Callao' British P.O. transit datestamp of the following day. Struck with central PANAMA TRANSIT datestamp (Nov 23) on front and trans-shipped to French Paquebot with LIGNE-A / PAQ. FR. No. 3 circular datestamp (Dec 2) with fleurons (Salles fig. 1401) on reverse. Carried from Panama on the 'Imp. Eugenie' to Bordeaux and thence to Genoa (Dec 27) where charged '14' (1 lire 40 centesemi) in black. Large part Italian Consular cachet also on reverse of an attractive entire.
