Smuggled Mail: 1871, Commune de Paris, two smuggled ("faire passer") covers, first a folded letter sheet franked by 1862-71 20c blue (33), tied by "3568" in lozenge from Paris datelined 1 MAI 71 with MONTIERDEN 5 MAI 71 receiver, inside notation states "The post doesn't function here"; second is an envelope with the same franking, tied by VERSAILLE 26 AVR 71 c.d.s. into Paris, Goebel Cert. (1999) for latter.
