'rosso bruno' and 10 c. bruno showing variety '0 piccolo', two fine and fresh examples with good to large margins, tied by light "PIACENZA 22 DIC 59" cds, French "SARDAIGNE CULOZ" entry cds in red and "P.D." handstamp in black alongside, on cover directed to Paris, reverse with TORINO transit and PARIS arrival (26 Dec.) cds's. An extremely rare and short living usage of the Governo Provvisorio issue, correctly paying the Sardinian 50 centesimi overland rate to France in effect in Parma after August 1859. Cert. E.
