1853 (24. Sept.): Falso di Verona 15 c. vermilion, even large margins all round, used on entire letter from Verona to Roveretto. The faked adhesive was recognized as such, the letter was confiscated and used as evidence in the process against the falsifier Gajetano Alberti, a corresponding court notification "12 al. Po 29" (= allegato n. 12 al processo 29) in red crayon at right. An extremely rare item, only five of these court letters related to the Verona falsifications are known in the literature. Certs. E.
