The Plating collection of the Swan 1 d. value, using the 1 d. rose, 1 d. ochre, 1 d. carmine, and 1 d. yellow used; the exhaustive study on 30 pages with detailed descriptions for every position and a wonderful 'aide memoire' to the practicality and studiousness of the original collector, the stamps arranged by Pane; also a further study of the 2 d. on four pages showing the the sheet divided into four pages of 30 stamps each, all achieved with used examples of the 2 d. chrome, cancellation interest, a simply marvellous 'old-time' reference lot and almost impossible to replicate nowadays (443 items with many pairs in the 1 d. plating collection).

1882/85: Emergency printings after the fire at the Anchor Works, wmk. Crown CA sideways, perforated 12: 1 d. yellow-ochre single and block of four (positions 127-128/147-148), 2 d. chrome-yellow, 4 d. carmine and 6 d. lilac unused, the set of four used and scarce February 1883 1 d. yellow-ochre perf. 12 x 14 fine used (Gi = £ 200), together with original perf. 14 set used, all on two album pages, generally fine to very fine, part or large part og. (17 items) Gi = £ 1'875+.

Cancellations 1859: Bowra circle and 15 bars numeral cancellations, the small collection on leaves with perforated Swan values from numbers 1-3 (Perth), 5 of Guildford on 1 d. ochre pair, 6 of Albany, scarce 7 of Minnimup on Swan 1 d., 9 of Mandurah on 4 d. carmine, 10 of Geejelup on 1 d. rose, strikes of numbers 11, 12 and 13 of Pinjarrah on 2 d. chrome, 14 of Toodyay on 21 d. yellow, 15 of Port Irwin on 2 d. chrome, 16 of York on 2 d. chrome, 17 of Australind on 1 d. carmine, 18 of Bunbury in blue on 1 d. ochre, 19 of Dardanup on 3 d. pale brown, 20 of Champrion Bay on 1 d. ochre, 21 of Vasse on 2 d. chrome, 22 of Blackwood on ½ d. on 1 d. yellow, 23 of Ginjin on block of six 1 d. yellow and 24 of North District on 1 s. green; a fine lot and difficult to put together with such fine strikes (23 items).

1888/1900: Official stampless covers (6) with OHMS printed cover to Melbourne endorsed "GPO" at lower left in manuscript struck with superb "PERTH / WESTERN AUSTRALIA" cds (Nov 26) in black; 1897 cover to Winchester, UK struck with "Governor of Western Australia / Coat of Arms / Frank Stamp" in violet, Perth cds in black and straight line "OFFICIAL PAID" in red; 1900 OHMS printed cover to Germany with "Accountant / GPO Perth" violet dated cachet and circular "Official / Paid" datestamp in black; and 1900 local cover with "Governor of Western Australia / ♚ / Frank Stamp" in blue; 1901 OHMS Returned Letter Office envelope used to Southern Cross cancelled by Perth / GPO duplex and 1901 rare usage of OHMS Returned Letter Office envelope with "Her" deleted and replaced by "His" at top used locally within Perth (both these last envelopes ex the Peter Basterfield collection, Cavendish, Derby, 8 April 1999). Condition varies but mainly fine, a rare group.
