1892: Postal Stationery Card, 1 d. carmine, used from Lagos to Worms, Germany, dated 16 December 1892, cancelled by oval barred cancel in black, with "LAGOS / W. AFRICA" datestamp alongside and "WORMS" single circle dated 19 January 1893, fine and rare example; earliest recorded date of usage.
Note: This example proves that despite the common belief that these cards were issued in 1893 they were in fact issued in 1892.

1902: Registration Envelope, 2 d. blue, size I, uprated with 2 d. dull purple & blue horizontal pair, used from Lagos to Banbury, England, dated on arrival in London 16 February 1907, stamps cancelled by manuscript scribble in purple, to the back a "REGISTERED / LONDON" oval in black alongside a "REGISTERED / PLYMOUTH" and an arrival "BANBURY" cds dated 17 February 1907. Late usage being after Lagos had been incorporated into Southern Nigeria. Tone spots, soiling apparent, care worn and imperfections, otherwise in fine condition for such a large format envelope. Rare; only recorded used example with stamps still attached (not listed in this size by H&G).

1888: Postal Stationery Reply Card, 1½ d.+1½ d. red-brown, unused, with manuscript "Specimen" overprint in black diagonally to face of message and reply card (intact), pin perforation gauge 7, minor soiling, otherwise very fine. Rare example; one of three archival specimens recorded of the reply card. Cert. RPSL (2009) which states; "possibly ex De La Rue archives."

1893: Postal Stationery, 1 d. carmine, reply part of card, perf. 7, used from West Hartlepool, England to Zanzibar, East Africa, dated 7 April 1897, cancelled by a double circle "WEST HARTLEPOOL" in black, with "ZANZIBAR" cirrcular datestamp alongside also in black dated 6 May 1897. Long message to the reverse. Slightly rounded corner lower right, otherwise fine. A rare usage contrary to regulations.
Note: According to the UPU regulations, response cards could only be sent back to their originating country and cards sent elsewhere should be treated as not franked.
