1868 (Nov 24) Handpainted cover posted from London S.W to ‘Ld Methuen, Corsham, Chippenham’, featuring a guardsman in his busby, a policeman holding a truncheon, a girl with an umbrella, and a porter carrying a suitcase bearing the 1d red stamp, and a trunk on his back upon which the address is written. Also a second unused postcard, both cards showing crowds alongside the official photographers booth bearing railway posters, and a stall selling aviation postcards. (2).

Great Western. 1846 Entire sent from London to Cheltenham by rail, the reverse with a large blue parcel stamp. The entire then readdressed back to Woods Hotel in London and posted at Cheltenham prepaid 2d in cash. A very unusual and scarce early railway letter, carried as a parcel.
