Kelleher Auctions Sale 709 US, British and Worldwide Stamps and Postal HistoryNewfoundland, 1941, 1¢ dark gray, plate proof on watermarked stamp paper (Scott 253PP1), an unusual group of three blocks of 4, each slightly different: 1.) a 1.5mm security punch in each stamp; 2.) a 3.5mm security punch in each stamp; and 3.) a 2.5mm security punch in each stamp and a central 8mm security punch in the block; block 1 has a Waterlow tape repair across the top stamps; block 2 has a double horizontal crease across the bottom stamps and a small stain in the upper left stamp, o.g., never hinged, otherwise Very Fine. Kelleher Auctions Sale 709 US, British and Worldwide Stamps and Postal HistoryNova Scotia, 1851, 6d yellow green, bisected (Scott 4a), diagonal half in pair with a full 6d tied by mute oval grids on a large piece (nearly complete right half) of a cover to Inverness, Scotland; postmarked clear strike of Antigonish split ring c.d.s., Oct 4, 1858, on the reverse; the pair has large margins all around except that it barely touches at the upper left corner, a choice, more affordable example of this rare bisect.
