1873/1944: Group of 59 Proofs, comprising 5 different portraits American Banknote issue 1873; 12 c. 1882 Bradbury Wilkinson die proof in unissued red colour; 1910 unadopted essay die proofs of 12 c. San Martin on horseback in red, blue and brown (by Grau & Condoy); 1911 four strips of three die proofs of the Ploughman 5 c. from 1911, each in a different colour; two Ploughman 5 c. black on cardboard; the famous Ploughman 5 c. with watermark sun with wavy rays in block of 4 extraordinarily well centred; San Martin 1923, composite strip of 3 with 1 p., 5 p. and 10 p. green and scarlet and 20 p. in block of four claret and blue; Postman's Benefit fund 1944 3 c. to 1 p. imperforate blocks of four, additionally a 6 c. revenue die proof in black accompanied with an essay in the same design in red (probably for postal stationery), a valuable and useful assembly.
