1841 (Feb 22) Large part entire (a little shortened at left) from Swansea to Cardiff bearing four 1d blacks, LK, MD, MI and NA, all plate 8 with "O" flaw state 2, all with clear margins, each tied by a black Maltese Cross, red Swansea backstamp. NA crossed by a light vertical file fold, otherwise fine, an attractive and scarce Welsh use paying the rate over 1oz. Photo on Page 223.

1841-53 Entire letters and covers all bearing 1d reds, many very fine with four margins, mostly from one correspondence, with undated circle handstamps of "WITHINGTON" (24) or "BROSELEY" (12), also a printed 1846 Manchester and Wilmslow Turnpike Trust report of accounts posted within Manchester franked by a 2d blue and then reposted the following day only franked by a 1d red, a most unusual reason for a 1d + 2d franking.
