Mendez, one passenger and 25 covers carrying his signature on front. Captain Mendez struck a wave on landing in Canal Zone and damaged a wing. After necessary repairs were made, the pilots continued to Cartagena, Barranquilla and Girardot, where the plane crashed again. They finally reached Bogota in January, 1929.
