Large Star, imperforate, a used horizontal pair with exceptional margins all round, used on March 1856 cover to Lewes, Sussex tied by "11" numeral obliterators of Port Ahuriri in black with manuscript notation of sending on reverse "P.O. Ahuriri 1/3/56". Charged "6" (pence) to pay upon arrival with London cds (July 21) and double arc Lewes arrival of the same day on reverse. A superb cover in the foremost quality for a first issue franking. Cert. BPA (2024).
