Underpaid under the new tariff on 1 July 1871 of 80 centimes for 10 grams and taxed with framed "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT" alongside '6' décimes charge marking (Unpaid letter 1 fr. - less 40 c. = 60 c. to pay). Reverse with Alexandrie cds (July 4) and Bordeaux arrival (July 12). a rare usage of this issue in Cairo and an attractive cover.
