1903 (Dec 26) Christchurch Weekly Press postcard depicting "The Discovery, Kaiapoi Maoris Song of Welcome" on the front and "The Discovery Penguins" on the reverse, written by Len Burgess, a crew member on the Second Relief Expedition ship "Morning", to Master Leonard Storey in Christchurch. Written from the Ross Sea with the message "I should like you to be hear now we are punching into the ice, it is just like thunder going off", posted three days after the ship returned to Lyttelton, with a N.Z 1d tied by Lyttelton squared circle (April 4), and a Christchurch arrival c.d.s. A fine and rare use of this card from the Antarctic, written on the Second Relief Expedition ship "Morning". Photo on Page 7.
