Rebate Letter. 1839 Entire letter from Vigo to Huth & Co in London originally charged 6/6, subsequently returned to the Post Office for a refund of 2/2, the rate reduced to 4/4 and endorsed on the reverse "Only Double, Fred. Huth & Co. 2/2". Backstamped in the London Foreign Branch (Sep 15), the front with the very scarce "REBATE / (crown) / 12 OC 12 / 1839 / F.B.O" (Jay L298c, only recorded used for a 4 week period, 12th Oct - 8th Nov. 1839), very fine. Photo on Page 259.
