1847 Stampless cover signed on the front by "Le Verrier", addressed in his handwriting to "Monsieur Hind, Bishops Observatory, Regents Park, London", paid in cash, with "PARIS / CHAMBRE DES PAIRS" c.d.s. Also 1860 entire letter with printed pictorial heading of the "Institut Imperial de France, Academie des Sciences", sent to Monsieur Phillips, President of the Geological Society of London, thanking him for a book, franked imperf 40c. Le Verrier discovered the planet Neptune, whilst John Hind discovered ten minor planets at the Bishops Observatory. (2).
