U.S., Rare and Valuable Plate Block Collection, 1890-1970's (214//RW40). Spectacular appearing United States plate block collection neatly housed on stock pages in a binder; one of the most valuable and comprehensive plate block collections we have ever offered intact as received; just one major problem - every plate is stuck to it's stock page from poor storage, must have been kept in a humid environment for an extended period, as the plates aren't a little stuck - each plate is cemented into place, such a shame, as there are numerous valuable items throughout this collection that would normally achieve impressive realizations if offered individually as public auction; highlights of this impressive looking collection include two 214 plate blocks/10 - a top and a bottom, each cataloging for 1,300 in Scott, there's a nicely centered 225 bottom plate/10 (cat $1,900), many better Washington Franklins, including 426-28, 431, and 433-34, a scarce 465 and 466 plate, a well centered 474 plate, an impressive 505 double error block/12 (cat 1,300), 512-516 plates, a magnificent 524 top plate/8 (cat 4,000), nice offset printings some better 1922 flats including a 571 plate/6, a 572 top margin block/6 (not a plate block), and a 573 top margin block/4; there's a nice group of 1929 Kansas Nebraska issues, including 658-664, 666-671, 673, and 676; there's 692-700, Back of the book include a C4 plate block of 6, along with an impressive bottom margin plate block of 25; Special Deliveries E11 and E13; Postage Dues J1 block/8 (not a plate block), J65, and J77-78 plates; Parcel Posts Q1-Q3, Special Handling complete Qe1-4, Postal Note PN1-18, Postal Savings and War Savings plates, Boating Stamps, and numerous attractive Duck Stamps including RW8, RW10, RW12-20, RW27-29, RW32-33, and RW38-40; with a current Scott catalog value in excess of $48,000 - this stunning collection could be a treasure trove for the stamp doctor, who can refurbish the condition of these impressive plates back to their original state; a great lot with an enormous amount of profit potential. Scott $48,079.
