Dec 15" cds and matching "Ship" handstamp and red manuscript "39½" double weight rating to Philadelphia Pa.; couple small edge tears, Very Fine.

Letter concerns business affairs but does mention, "In four or five days we shall be at Siam where we may find a vessel for Singapore, a port much resorted to by American vessels trading to India. In this way you may receive it, or it may be sent by the way of England. It is now decided, as certainly as any naval matter can be, that we return by the way of Cape Horn, We shall be at the Sanwitch islands in November and at Valparaiso in December or January - I will write you again at Siam".
