Panama, Colombia 1881, Registration, 10c red on orange. With blue "3097" handstamp, used on cover with Colombia 1883, 10c orange, 20c violet, tied by "Panama, 1 May 1 1886" duplex on cover with preprinted address to New York City, endorsed "Per S.S. 'Newport' ", blue crayon "45", New York (5.10) backstamps; top edge tears, vertical at center, F.-V.F., ex-Helme.

Beginning in 1886, a numbering machine was used to enter registration numbers in Panama. Colon began using using a numbering machine in 1889. No other town in Panama used a numbering machine until after Panama became Independent.
