HAWAII - Germany, 1889, use of 2 cent black postal card, uprated with 2 cent rose King David Kalakaua issue (Sc 43,UX2), prepaying the UPU postal card rate to Germany. Stamps tied by WAIANAE/OAHU datestamp, and front shows HONOLULU duplex and SAN FRANCISCO transits. A scarce overseas use of this card from a small town on the West coast of Oahu.
