1934 (Feb): Overprinted "OFFICIAL" by the Govt. Printer in Pretoria, ½ d. emerald, 2 d. bright purple and 6 d. orange-yellow, all used on large piece of cover addressed to a Professor M. Lambert in Lagos, Nigeria and each stamp neatly tied by MASERU circular datestamps (April 9, 1934) in black. An excessively rare piece: only 24 of the ½ d. value were issued, 54 of the 2 d. and 27 of the 6 d., the balance of the issue (numbering initially 300 sets) being burnt by the authorities. An excessively rare cover: whilst the issue comprised of 300 of each of the four values, only 34 of the 1 d. value were actually issued, the balance being burnt by the authorities. Exceptional. Cert. 1935 (May 4): Silver Jubilee, the set of four values in unused blocks of six (3 x 2), perforated hooded SPECIMEN, all of fresh colour, unmounted og. Most 'Specimen' sets are usually found, albeit infrequently as multiples, in strips of three as despatched from the UPU to member countries. Superb and extremely rare multiples Gi = £ 900++.

Cape of Good Hope Used in Basutoland 1884/90: Cape of Good Hope 2 d. bistre, wmk. Anchor (Gi 50a), a used block of thirty-six (6 x 6), all cancelled by good strikes of "MOHALES HOEK / BASUTOLAND" cds's in black. Second horizontal row with crease but a remarkable and attractive large multiple.
