China, 1897 (14 May) envelope to Wyoming, Pennsylvania (arrival) via Yokohama (19.5) and San Francisco (6.6), showing "Customs/Ningpo" double-ring origin d.s. in brown indicating prepayment of postage in cash or subscriber's letter, "Customs/Shanghai" double-ring transit d.s. (15.5) also in brown on reverse, and bearing Japan Koban 5s., cancelled by "Shanghai/I.J.P.O." c.d.s., the envelope is waterstained affecting some of the postal markings, however the two Customs daters are very fine.
