José de la Luz proof printed in unissued green in a block of eight with plate number 'S593', together with 20 c. José A. Saco engraved sunken Die Proof of the 20 c. in slate-lilac (issued in olive-green) printed by the Security Bank Note Co. Philadelphia, affixed to card (73 x 132 mm), also postage due 1914 1 c. deep blue, 2 c. mrytle green and 5 c. orange side marginal imperforate Plate Proofs in blocks of four all in unissued colours, an excellent and useful lot. Lot 454 - Cuba - Corinphila Auction AG Auction 333-341 Europe & Overseas Americas (North, Central & South America) - Day 11861 (Nov 28): Entire letter written from Campeche, Mexico to Barcelona, carried by hand / consignee's letter to Havana, Cuba where mailed with 1857 1 r. pale yellow-green (Edifil 8), no wmk., imperforate with good margins all round, tied by horizontal barred obliterator and by under-inked cds. Reverse with "Barcelona" cds of arrival (30 Jan 1862), displaying well on flap in black. An unusual usage at the beginning of the War of Intervention, the French forces landed at Vera Cruz on 8 December 1861. Cert. Comex (2018).
