Australia, Postage Due, 1907, ½d green. 2 complete right pane sheets of 60, one with watermark upright and "97076" machine serial number in top right corner selvage, other with watermark inverted, each with 'ST' of 'POSTAGE' joined flaw (position R9/1), all except one stamp never hinged, serial number pane with some crimped perfs at right, otherwise Very Fine, a exceptionally rare pair of sheets.
SG No. D45, D45w; £1,680 for o.g. singles ($2,690).

Marginal markings on these issues are unusual and it is belived that they occur once in every 1,000 sheets and that the numbers were used for inventory purposes by the paper manufacturer.

Oversized cover franked with G.B. 4½d QV issue tied by origin cds's to Sydney, readdressed to Nelson, British Columbia and franked with N.S.W. 1888, 4d brown + 1891, 3d green + 1899, 2½d dark blue diagonally bisected, 4d & 3d tied by "Registered, Sydney N.S.W., Ju 10, 07" cds, received in Nelson, B.C. with Canada 1906 5¢ Postage Due tied by Nelson postmark, readdressed again back to Leicester via New York with Canada 1898, 7¢ olive yellow + 2¢ Map + 1897, 2¢ Jubilee, London etiquette and appropriate transit backstamps; cover tear at top, still Very Fine for this.
