China: 1853, Napoleon III imperforate, 40c orange on yellowish, margins all round, tied by indistinct lozenge on envelope (missing top back flap) bearing PARIS 26 DEC 61, red boxed PD, on reverse LYON/MARSEILLE 27 DEC 61 and other French transits, addressed to a doctor with the French-China Expeditionary Force in Tien-Tsin., paying the military half-rate.
