French Post Office in Smirna 1871/75: France Cérès 15 c. pale bistre pair and 25 c. blue pair, used on 31 Dec 1873 entire letter from Beirut, Lebanon (sender's cachet at lower left) to Tavare, France, all tied in transit at Smyrne by '5098' gros chiffres with "Smyrne / Turquie" cds (Jan 7) with oval "BM" Mobile Box marking below. Carried on the Paquebot "Peluse" datestamp alongside (Sept 24). Framed 'PD' in red and reverse with Marseille (Jan 15). A delightful and scarce entire.
