Austrian Courier Service in Smirna 1834 (Nov 26): Entire letter from Smirna to Marseille mailed on overland route via Constantinople and disinfected with two line "Geräuchert vom Contumaz Amte / zu SEMLIN am 5 April 1832" cachet displaying well on flap. Obverse with "Turquie" origin handstamp in black and framed "Austriche / Par / Huningue" in red; Marseille arrival cds (Jan 3, 1835) on reverse. A fine and scarce entire.
