British Protectorate 1815-1864 1822 (Oct 12): Entire letter from Prevesa, Ottoman Eprius to Corful, with reverse showing oval cachet of the French Consulate in Prevesa in black, overstruck by Ottoman "Prevesa" despatch in black with two partial red wax seals probably reading "MAGISTRATO ALLA SANITÁ DI CORFU" with the "Argo" vignette; heavily disinfected by toasting and vinegar splashing, struck on arrival with circular "ISOLE / IONIE" handstamp in green and rated "3" pence in manuscript.
