1854 (July 6): Octagonal 1 s. blue used in combination with Half Length 1857 3 d. blue, three examples, all with margins touched to fine, on 1858 cover to London endorsed "Per Overland Mail via Marseilles" tied by Melbourne numeral "1" obliterators in black. Reverse with "SHIP LETTER / FREE / GPO VICTORIA" oval datestamp (Sept 15) in red, obverse with 'London FB / Paid' arrival cds (Nov 8) in red. A rare and most attractive usage
