Sideface 1878: 2 d. green, a used example on 1898 cover endorsed "On Public service only" in manuscript, addressed locally to the Lands & Works Dept. in Launceston (June 21). Compulsorily registered and struck with "POSTED OUT / OF COURSE" in black and, below "OFFICIALLY / REGISTERED / To Pay" in red with oval 'R' below. Rare - believed to be the sole known example of the Launceston "OFFICIALLY / REGISTERED / To Pay" marking.
