Army Official: 1903 De La Rue die proof of the Army Official overprint (Type 2) in black on glazed card (92x60mm), endorsed 23 Mar 03 in blue, a superb and incredibly rare die proof (S.G. £9'000).

By 1903 the existing overprint plate (forme 2) had become very worn, so a new plate (forme 4) was made from a fresh die. After the 6d. issue the overprint was withdrawn, the existing overprint (Type 1) showed a Larger "M".

Inland Revenue: 1890 10s ultramarine irregular used block of 15 lettered KE-NG, each cancelled by a light strike of the oval "ACCOUNT BRANCH/ 1 Oct 94/P.O. GLASGOW", some creasing as to be expected of a used block this size though in no way affecting the very fresh and fine appearance of this great rarity-

Admiralty Official: 1903 De La Rue die proof of the Admiralty Official overprint (Type 2) in black on glazed card (92x60mm), endorsed 27 Mar 03 in blue, a superb and incredibly rare die proof (S.G. £9'000).

By 1903 the existing overprint electro was damaged so a new die was called for, the existing overprint (Type 1) showed a larger "M".

Army Official: 1897 (Aug 5) large format O.H.M.S. envelope Registered from Cardiff to Halifax Nova Scotia, bearing an irregular block of nine, block of four and pair of the 1/2d. vermilion, and blocks of nine, four, pair and two singles of the 1d. lilac, each overprinted "ARMY OFFICIAL" and neatly cancelled by Cardiff c.d.s.; a remarkable franking, in a very good state of preservation considering its size; a great rarity.
