A bronze plaque in memory of Herzl, Boris Schtaz, signed
Approximately in 1903, Boris Schatz, the founder of Bezalel, met Binyamin Ze'ev Herzl. The meeting turned Schatz, who was most influenced by Herzl's ideas, into an enthusiastic Zionist.
Throughout the years, Schatz created several monuments of Herzl's image. On this bronze plaque, Herzl's profile can be seen, on his right a symbolic image of Moses and on his left the inscription: "I believe that there will be a generation of amazing Jews. The Maccabees will arise again and if this generation falters, a superior one will come after it, of Jews who seek redemption and who will be redeemed".
The plaque is signed by Boris Schatz.
Size: 5X7 cm.
