Dec 9. 1919 / The first daily in Jerusalem printed in the English language" With congratulatory message from Allenby (High Commissioner For Egypt) printed on front page (two sided one-page sheet) folded 4 times (in remarkably good condition nonetheless!); also with 7-page handwritten letter (on 4 sheets of JERUSALEM NEWS letterhead) to "My dear Mrs. Coolidge" (presumably wife of the future President) datelined "Oct 4th (1919) Syrian Orphanage", reference is made to the "stamp on this letter will be valuable as it has Palestine written in English, Arabic & Hebrew... Collectors are finding everything about Palestine during the short (!) English rule..." and notes that she will send her the first edition of the JERUSALEM NEWS (this very paper!), F-VF and Great Documentation Pieces! Photo. Estimated Value $125
