British Protectorate 1815-1864 1854 (Sept 25): Soldier's concessionary rate entire letter from "Citadel Barracks, Corfu" to Glasgow, endorsed "From Corporal Wm. Anderson 1st. Battalion, 71st Highlanders", correctly countersigned at lower left by Commanding Officer, struck with superb "♚ / PAID AT CORFU" in black with London Paid transit cds (Nov 23) above in red. Glasgow arrival on reverse of the same day. Minor restoration on internal flaps but a wonderful and truly outstanding entire Gi = £ 650++.
