New York City Despatch Post / Local 1842 (Feb): 3 c. black on greyiah paper, a used example with large margins all round on undated (1842) cover to Philadelphia endorsed "Single" cancelled by manuscript pen cross. "New York" cds in red below (April 16) and prepaid rate in manuscript "12½" at top right. Some splitting on top flap not affecting the appearance. A scarce usage. Ex collections Middendorf and Schwartz Scott = $ 1'100.
