1943 Censored airmail cover from Mazare-Charif (Mazar-i-Sharif) to Schaffhausen, Switzerland 'Via India, Baghdad, Istanbul' (endorsed), franked 1939-44 2a. and 3a. (front) plus 15p. (back) tied by bilingual "MAZARE-CHARIF/13.11.43" c.d.s., with Kaboul transit dater and Schaffhausen '18.III.44' arrival c.d.s. on the reverse, British and German censor stripes and handstamps, and note 'defekt erhalten' (received defect) in m/s. Envelope creased and opened roughly, but still a very interesting WWII cover required about four months from Afghanistan to Switzerland.
