1898, 2 Cent./5 Cent. blue (H&G B13, Goodman EN25) locally used in Guatemala city with octogonal violet dater "POSTA LOCAL / OCT 29 1898 / GUATEMALA" (Goodman CPL9). According to Goodman "Only one copy of the 2c has been reported with the local usage for which it was intended" and "The earliest postmark reported tor these provisionals is November 13 1898". So this envelope shows both a very scarce and a very early usage.
