British Protectorate 1815/64 1849: Prepaid entire letter from Zante to Marseille struck on despatch with hooded "ZANTE" datestamp in blue (March 10) and "3d." local rate in red manuscript, very fine "♚ / PAID AT ZANTE" in deep blue ink with "5d." manuscript ship rate in ink adjacent; reverse with MALTA double arc cds of transit (March 13) and Marseille arrival on obverse (March 18) in red where charged "7" décimes due in manuscript.
