1839: Treasury Competition Essays attributed to James Bogardus and Francis Coffin, group of four lithographic reprints on glazed paper, showing Queen Victoria surrounded by engine-turned oval, two examples in black, one in brown, one in vermilion, the latter with small hinge thin, else a fine assembly, of which only 25-30 examples were believed made in each colour by Colonel Henry Hill, grandson of Sir Rowland Hill, from a steel die he discovered with "Bogardus" cut into the reverse, scarce.
