Italy > Lucania > Thurium, Stater (Nomos) 425-400 BCE; 19.5mm, 5.2g. Obv.: head of Athena in helmet bound with olive (no Φ mark in field - either artist's sign. or coin's value). Rev.: bull walking to left, head lowered; ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ above; beneath bull is a little bird; in exergue is a fish. Lump on upper back flank may be the intended Φ mark from original design. Cast bronze(?)
