Mauritius, French Shipmail connection with the Messageries maritimes, 1870/1934: Collection of 60 covers / postcards and postal stationery primarily to Mauritius, few ingoing, departing / going primarily from / to France but also from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Bosnia, Tunesia and Madagascar using vessels of the lines N, T, U and V. The place of despatch on Mauritius is primarily Port Louis, but also village post offices such as CUREPIPE, FORREST SIDE, QUATRE BORNES, RIVIERE DES ANGUILLES, or QUATRE-BORNES. Covers in mixed condition with some covers with franking cut out, nevertheless a very interesting Shipmail assembly.
