NORDENSKJOLD, Otto: Swedish polar explorer who spent 2 years in Antarctica, the first one scheduled for the expedition, the second one due to the sinking of his ship "Antarctic", and then rescued by the expedition led by Julián Irízar, all returned as heroes to Buenos Aires in late November 1903. ACCIDENT IN THE ICEBREAKER SAN MARTIN: Airmail cover sent from Buenos Aires to Alte. Brown Antarctic station on 1/SE/1967 on a special flight of the Air Force, with arrival mark of 15/OC. On the way back aboard icebreaker A.R.A. Gral. San Martín, a few letters were damaged by sea water, and received a black mark of Secretaría de Comunicaciones indicating this issue, very rare, good opportunity!

Lot of about 28 covers or cards with postmarks of Antarctic campaigns, Argentine bases, flights, etc., some signed, very fine general quality, very interesting lot for the specialist and with very low start (market value US$10 or more each!)

Old collection (ex Jorge Di Campli) mounted on pages with covers of several Argentine Antarctic bases, mainly of the 1940s and 1950s, with over 110 pieces, also some stamps of Argentina and covers related to Antarctica. Wrapper for printed matter franked with 2P., sent from Buenos Aires to Orcadas, with arrival mark of 29/JA/1963 and signed by the chief scientist (addressee) + another signature, VF quality, very rare!

2 Covers sent from the Belgian Antarctic base to Bruxelles on 25/JA/1965 on special flight, VF quality!
