1885/87: Group of thirty examples comprising unused, used and items on piece with European Gummed & Perforated paper 1886/87 3 d. violet (13 JAN 86) on yellowish paper, perf. 11½, without Arms, an unused example together with 6 further unused examples dated between 6 Sept 1886 and 17 Jan 1887; and a single used example cancelled in manuscript (SG 4), 1886/87 4 d. violet (30 AUG 86) on yellowish paper, perf. 11½, without Arms, an unused single example and a horizontal pair together with three further single examples (30 Aug and 6 Sept 1886), majority fresh and very fine, large part og. (Gi 5), Blue Granite paper 1886/87: 4 s. violet on granite, perf. 11½, an unused example (17 JAN 87), a somewhat short example, large part og. (Gi 38) and from the same issue 1886/87 10 s. violet on granite, perf. 11½, two unused examples (JAN 86) and (2 JUL 86), with a third faintly printed unused example (13 JAN 86) and an unused example (2 JUL 86) variety "Double Print", all fine, large part og. (Gi 42, 42var). Embossed Arms without Date 1887 (March): 6 d. violet on yellow paper, perf. 11½, an unused horizontal pair, variety "Arms tête-bêche" (Gi 82) ex Collection Dr. G.H. Jonkers. Several others including three pieces with Transvaal used (Gi 176) in the New Republic. In the main a fine lot, and a scarce group (30) Gi = £ 2'700+.
