French Post Office in Smirna 1871/75: France Cérès 80 c. carmine-rose, four examples used on quadruple weight 1874 cover from Constantinople to Lyon, tied in transit by '5098' gros chiffres with "Smyrne / Turquie" despatch cds (Feb 26) and oval "BM" Mobile Box marking in black and "PD" in red below. Reverse with Lyon arrival cds (March 5) in black. A few small imperfections but a very scarce rate: coupled with a further entire at single rate with one 80 c. adhesive, mailed on the same ship on the same day. Rare.
