1812/1844: The Postal History selection with mail from Mauritius to France, GB and India, with 1812 entire to Bombay with oval "POST PAID / PORT LOUIS", 1831 entire to London with "INDIA LETTER / DEAL", 1835 entire ex Mauritius to Nantes with transits of "PAID AT BRISTOL" and London tombstone in red, with 1837 cover to London with fine "INDIA LETTER / DEAL", 1837 entire from the Vale to London with "INDIA LETTER / BRIGHTON", 1838 Consignee's letter mailed in London, 1839 cover to Bordeaux struck with framed "INDIA LETTER / PORTSMOUTH" in black, 1839 similar cover but struck with "INDIA LETTER / DEAL" in black (each rated "4/6d." in manuscript), 1852 entire incoming entire to Port Louis with "Ship Letter" and "♚ / MAURITIUS" in black, faulty 1858 entire from Amsterdam to Mauritius, 1858 entire to Coleraine with "Mauritius / Post Office" cds and "INDIA LETTER / PORTSMOUTH" etc., later items incl. a few better stamps in below average quality, unusual 1909 Switzerland cover to Mauritius and returned with REBUTS handstamp, 1944 cover from USA with two Prexie 30 c. blue to a Jewish Internee on Mauritius with "E/88" Opend by Examiner Reseal and triangular Censor of arrival in violet; a hand drawn picture of Lady Gomm writing invitations to the Ball etc. An interesting selection, condition variable but some choice items noted, with careful viewing recommended (39 items).
