Our next Stamps and Covers Auction takes place at 12 noon on Thursday 28th January 2016 and the catalogue  is now available to view on-line at www.statusint.com.
 
Auction 321 has a total of 3818 lots catering for all types of collectors and dealers, and with reserve prices starting at just $20 there's something for everyone. Singles, covers, postal history, deceased estates, accumulations and specialist material are all well represented.
 
We have a wide range of Australian collections  and accumulations  (lots 71 - 321), and a comprehensive listing   of over  300 World collections, accumulations and estates (lots 322 - 628). Following on there is almost 1000 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers includingAustralian colonies (lots 645-1523). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values.
 
A good selection of Australian Kangaroos is highlighted by a very rare Small Multi Watermark £2 Black & rose, unlisted variety "bite in tail". Very fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum. SG 114(var) cat £4500 for normal M, should be at least double, £9000+ MUH. ACSC 57 cat $17,500 as normal. Very rare genuine MUH.(Lot 783).
 
Also in the  Australian Pre-Decimal  a  KGV ½d Red-brown Plate proof on perf 14 single wmk paper. VF fresh UN as made. ACSC 66PP(1) cat $40,000. Of the seven printed, only two are known to have survived. Great rarity. 2015 Drury photo-cert.(Lot 841)
 
Following the Australia is a very strong World section of over 2300 lots (lots 1524 - 3818) includes singles, covers and an impressive selection of rarities.
 
In the British Colonial section is a Malaya - Straits Settlements 1904-10 KEVII $100 purple & green on yellow top value, wmk mult crown, chalk surfaced paper. VF fresh M, nice original gum. SG 140 cat £22,000. Major British Empire high denomination rarity. (Lot 2953). Also there is inBritish Central Africa a 1895 Arms £25 black & blue-green, top value, no wmk. Superb fresh M, perfect centring, nice original gum, fully intact perfs & bright colours - believed to be the best quality example in existence (most other examples of this stamp are regummed or reperfed, or badly off-centre). SG 31 cat £16,000+++. Important high value British Empire rarity. Exp 3 times inc Thier.( Lot 1658)
 
In the Great Britian Section a 1888 QV £1 brown-lilac, wmk 3 Orbs from a printing made in error on wrong wmk paper. VF fresh M, sl trace of diag crease, nice original gum & excellent colour. SG Spec K16, SG186 cat £72,000 = A$150,000+. Wmk orbs is many times scarcer than wmk Crowns. Major GB rarity in such attractive mint condition. (Lot 2597).  Also a 1867-83 QV £5 orange, white paper. Superb fresh MUH, left marginal, pristine never hinged original gum, sl gum crease of no significance, intense bright colour & excellent centering. SG 137 cat £14,500 for M, should be at least double, £29,000 MUH. Very rare stamp mint as few people could afford to keep a £5 stamp in those times (5 gold sovereigns!). Great rarity MUH & stunning example of this key stamp. (Lot 2565)
 
In the Pacific region we have a Papua New Guinea -1960 "Postal Charges 6d" on 7½d with Postage blocked out, LL cnr marginal blk of 4 with Government imprint. F-VF MUH, usual sl tropicalised gum & sl vert wrinkle. SG D1 cat £3400+++ as singles. Extremely rare genuine as only 800 printed, so only 22 imprints would have existed, of which majority would have been split up, so definitely less than 10 imprint blks exist! (beware of forgeries, especially as there have also been cases of incorrect/forged certificates). 2001 Ceremuga AIEP photo-cert  (Lot 3571). Also in the Cook Islands a 1892 Type-set 1d black vertical pr IMPERF between. VF UN. SG 1a cat £10,000. Great rarity, only several exist. 2013 Ceremuga photo cert (Lot 2136).
 
In the World section is  the  France  1940-41 Surch "50" on 90c Peace, lower marginal se-tenant blk of 4, error LR stamp "05" for "50". Superb fresh MUH. Maury 482/482c cat €11,500 -plus premium for se-tenant positional blk which should be +50%, so est €17,500. SG 678/678a cat £9500 for M singles & should be at least double, MUH in positional blk, so £19,000+. One of the rarest & most important errors of France. Exp Roumet & Brun AIEP, plus 2014 Scheller photo cert  (Lot  1963). Also there is the Israel 1948 1st Coin "Doar Ivri" set 3m-1000pr, with FULL TABS imperf at base. VF fresh MUH, never hinged original gum, 1000pr Top Value superb fresh & in pristine quality. Bale 1-9, SG 1-9 cat £12,000. Very rare as most sets are forged or regummed. Certificates for top values can be obtained on request. (9 ) (Lot 2736).
 
The Asian section includes a large range of PRC China with a good selection of Cultural Revolution sets and stamps including the 1968 Directive of Mao 8f set, se-tenant horiz strip of 5. Superb fresh MUH, unfolded, pristine condition. SG 2397a cat £8000, Yang W10. Rarity so nice.(Lot 2086) , also the 1967 Thoughts of Mao 8f set of 2 se-tenant strips of 5 & single. F-VF MUH, with better than usual gold. Yang W1, SG 2343-53 cat £2250 as singles (11). (lot 2067)
