1 Silbergroschen on yellow, linear rouletted 17, two single values each with slightly rouletted number "8" on folded cover of the ducal city court with adjacent blue DKr. "BRAUNSCHWEIG 8 SEPT. (1864) to the district court at Hasselfelde with reverse arrival postmark; the left stamp at bottom silhouette, at right with large part of the secondary stamp (here the roulette is very nicely visible), the left stamp from the upper margin with complete (three-sided) roulette, the latter with small glued flat tear on the right, otherwise the postage paid is in perfect condition, the envelope slightly aging in the folds. The only known letter with a multiple franking of this stamp (postage stamp) and one of the great Brunswick scarcesProvenance: Rothschild collection (Harmer 1939), John Boker jr. (1988)
